Started on location with friends, finished while sheltering in my studio.  My imagination needed some fresh air so I let her out to play!

This is an updated version of a painting I started two years ago.  The original had good bones, but darn it -- it wanted some poppies!  The location is a trailhead on the north side of Mt. Diablo in Northern California.

Lacy oaks crown a steep ascent, stitching earth to sky.  Painted at Round Valley Regional Preserve near Brentwood in Northern California.

Rolling hills and ancient oaks cradle Marsh Creek in this peaceful valley near Brentwood in Northern California.  It was a joy to paint there on a fresh green Spring day!
