For some reason Lewis Carroll's poem "Jabberwocky" was going through my head on this magical day in the Ruth Bancroft Garden. I guess it's because the borogoves were so extremely mimsy, and the mome raths were outgrabing like crazy.

It was a joy painting with friends on a crisp, windy day along the Richmond shoreline, just across the bay from San Francisco. So refreshing when temps at home were triple digits!

Kitchen Door, Locke

It was fun painting with friends in Locke yesterday! In the crisp morning sunlight I was attracted to the back of the Chinese restaurant with its hodgepodge of doors and windows, overgrown garden and rickety picket fence. Built in 1915, Locke is a charming, colorful historic town on the Sacramento River in Northern California.
