Borges Ranch Reimagined

 

Started while painting with friends at Borges Ranch, finished -- and tweaked -- in my studio. It was fun adding new doors and windows, farm animals, a ranch hand and a welcoming entry path to perk up this old barn!

Started near Mt. Diablo painting with friends, finished in my studio on Christmas Day. I love the patterns of muted golds and soft blue greens that weave through our Northern California hills this time of year.

October Afternoon, Los Vaqueros

It was a joy painting with friends in this peaceful valley on a quiet Autumn afternoon.  I almost finished this painting on location but was not completely happy with it. Looking at it with fresh eyes this week I was finally able to pull it together. Sometimes my paintings need to percolate for a while before they reveal their solutions!

This is the beautiful Los Vaqueros Watershed near Brentwood in Northern California.
