Nortonville
This remnant of ranch life is tucked away in a valley just north of Mt. Diablo in Northern California. On a sunny February day, the hills were aglow with mustard and the old almond trees were sporting fresh new blossoms. It was a joy painting there with friends!

Spring Glow, Black Diamond
It was a joy painting with friends on a crisp, sunny January day at Black Diamond Mines in Northern California. Plants that looked like snowflakes paved the trail and inspired the starry shapes I sprinkled in the foreground. My friend John Tullis said "I like your starfish!"

Garden Gamelan
Started at Markham Nature Park in Concord, California, finished in my imagination while listening to Danny Elfman's "Gamelan." The music's hypnotic rhythms and dynamic harmonies wove their way into my design.

Winter Peace
Started on a cool, misty day in the Diablo foothills, finished in my imagination. As the painting emerged memories and dreams shaped a gentle new terrain blanketed in soft, comforting color.

Borges Ranch October
Sunshine and rain played tag while my friends and I painted at this historic ranch. An astute child observed that my painting was full of raindrops!
